See what is Indian electronic media doing
Since yesterday, farmers across India have been shouting slogans and blocking roads in several parts of the country. They have been protesting against the three agri-marketing bills recently passed by the Parliament. The most widespread protests were in Punjab and Haryana, but demonstrations were also reported from Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Kerala and Karnataka as part of the Bharat bandh call given by several farmer unions. The protests continue today also in many areas.
However, in all this hullaballoo, the Indian media has another focus… Deepika Padukone’s involvement in the drug case that has recently gripped Bollywood. She and some other known Bollywood actors have been summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to join the probe. The drugs case was lodged following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June this year.
Deepika Padukone’s manager, Karishma Prakash, was questioned for about seven hours yesterday. She has been summoned for another round of probe today.
