Lockdown: With schools closed and no mid-day meal, children in Bihar return to waste collection.
The coronavirus lockdown is having a devastating effect on the children in parts of Bihar. With schools closed and mid-day meal supply stopped, the children of Musahari tola in Badbilla village, a Mahadalit locality in Bhagalpur district, have now joined their parents in waste collection. While others have started begging. The fight against hunger for the children of this Mahadalit village has only intensified after the lockdown. There is no food for the children due to lockdown. Most of the children from Musahari tola went to government primary school either in Dedhela, Shahbad or Sultanganj. At school, the children were served rice, soya, dal, vegetables and eggs. But this source of nutrition has now disappeared
