Modi Cartoon: Jab PM met Advani!

Background of this Modi Cartoon

Earlier in September, BJP chief Amit Shah had claimed that the party will win the elections in 2019 and nobody will be able to remove them for the next 50 years. We must remember that Advani furiously campaigned for the BJP in the late 90’s and early years of this century with the sole intention of becoming the country’s Prime Minister. However, that dream was never realised, not even for 13 days!

When BJP finally came to power in 2014, it was Modi, and not Advani, at the helm of affairs. That reality would have bitten Advani for days, and perhaps, continues even today. LK Advani was later appointed to BJP’s Margdarshak Mandal, which was largely seen as a way to sideline the seniors. Over a period of time, this committee became nothing but a butt of all jokes. If you are old in the BJP and not performing, be ready to go to the Margdarshak Mandal!

India’s most loved PM goes to heaven

India’s most loved Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee breathed his last on 16 August 2018. He was battling illness for 2 months at AIIMS. As the country bid adieu to him, a sea of people were seen on the roads of Delhi during his final procession. Here, cartoonist Irfan pays his respects to the stalwart, in the way best known to him.

Modi Gadkari

Only reservations, no jobs!

Union minister Nitin Gadkari has said that hankering after reservations in jobs will not help because employment opportunities in the country are shrinking rapidly.

No friendship day this time!

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has said that all those involved in the ghastly Muzaffarpur rape case will not be spared. He said this a day after the Opposition gunned for his resignation over the Muzaffarpur shelter home abuse scandal during a dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

Bihar shelter home rape

We are ashamed!

The horrific rape of 34 minor girls in a Bihar shelter home is one of the worst crimes reported this year, and something that will make us look away in shame… what have we reduced to?

nitish kumar bihar

Who will protect them?

34 minor girls aged between 7 and 17 were allegedly raped in a shelter home in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur. Most of them suffer from speech-impairment. The police say they were given sedatives with dinner and then raped at night. The case has left Indians reeling.

Yogi Adityanath IAS

File asana!

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has sought the records of over 100 tainted class I officers, including IAS, IPS, PCS and PPS, whose names have figured in corruption cases at any point in time during their service period.

Assam NRC List

The NRC bomb’s 40 lakh victims!

The final draft of National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam has excluded 40 lakh applicants. This means that these people will be ‘stateless’ if all legal options fail for them. Will they be deported?

Mamata Bengal NRC

In or out?

West Bengal BJP President Dilip Ghosh said that if his government comes, in the same way as Assam, the National Citizen Register (NRC) will also issue in West Bengal. But WB Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that she won’t allow this. She has accused the central government for turning “Indian citizens into refugees”.
