Modi Cartoon: Jab PM met Advani!

Narendra Modi cartoon: PM Modi met LK Advani on 8 November 2018 as the BJP veteran turned 91. Modi wished him on his birthday, saying his contribution towards nation building is monumental. Read the full story on The Economic Times here.

Background of this Modi Cartoon

Earlier in September, BJP chief Amit Shah had claimed that the party will win the elections in 2019 and nobody will be able to remove them for the next 50 years. We must remember that Advani furiously campaigned for the BJP in the late 90’s and early years of this century with the sole intention of becoming the country’s Prime Minister. However, that dream was never realised, not even for 13 days!

When BJP finally came to power in 2014, it was Modi, and not Advani, at the helm of affairs. That reality would have bitten Advani for days, and perhaps, continues even today. LK Advani was later appointed to BJP’s Margdarshak Mandal, which was largely seen as a way to sideline the seniors. Over a period of time, this committee became nothing but a butt of all jokes. If you are old in the BJP and not performing, be ready to go to the Margdarshak Mandal!
