Irfan Khan

Born in a simple family in Gwalior, India, Irfan set out to reveal his art to the world quite early in life. At 51 today, he can boast of a 34-year-long cartoonist career. He has worked with almost all leading national newspapers of the country. His cartoons have appeared and continue to appear on some of India’s top news channels.

He represented India in Tokyo in the 10th Asian Cartoon Exhibition organised by Japan Foundation in 2005. He has held 10 solo cartoon exhibitions till date and has three cartoon collections to his name. He has also contributed to NCERT, and his cartoons are a subject of study in High School. He was given the prestigious Kaka Hathrasi Award in 2010 by Hindi Academy. He has worked with the Election Commission of India to spread awareness amongst voters. He is the chief cartoonist with India’s first national bilingual political cartoon magazine Teekhi Mirch.
